fandaor Report post Posted October 21, 2013 Hello all, First I'm not talking about bumping your car to have it embossed (terrible joke but I had to do it first ). I am more interested in understanding how you can emboss a logo or any forms in a thick leather skin used for seats or headrest : or like I'm trying to learn to make it on my car (caterham seven from 1997) but after few attemps using double layered foam, stitching the form from behind... well the results are not that conclusives. So I was wondering if someone could point me to some books to learn this very specific matter of form modeling/embossing with leather in seats and any surface that need thick skin. Thank you a thousand in advance. Cheers
jimmy eng Report post Posted November 3, 2013 You get a metal stamp made and use a heavy press to make the imprint. The first one is embossed from the skin side and the other one looks to be from the flesh side (probably has a negative plate on the other side to keep the shape better).
