Members kieranw7261 Posted November 8, 2013 Members Report Posted November 8, 2013 Hi there, I bought a leather bag from an online website that shipped direct from a factory in India. The bag arrived and is nice but it has this horrible finish. I found out later that the bag is coated in vegetable oil. It has a oil texture that I just cant stand to touch and Im half convinced it would rub off on my clothes. I was wondering if anyone had any advice on any way I could seal the leather or remove as much of the vegetable oil from the leather and then treat the leather with another product? If its not possible do you think that the bag will eventually loose the vegetable oil feel when worn for a while? Kind regards Quote
dirtclod Posted November 9, 2013 Report Posted November 9, 2013 I think i read on here where somebody used corn starch to get rid of some oil. Never tried though and if you do i'd try it in a place that's not seen to easily in case it makes a mess. Quote I'm old enough to know that i don't know everything.
