Members gentle ben Posted November 11, 2013 Members Report Posted November 11, 2013 Hello friends I am making a few 1.5" belts and I need to get a punch for the tongue slot. What size is most versatile? Quote
Members silverwingit Posted November 25, 2013 Members Report Posted November 25, 2013 Most versatile would probably be a 3/4" oblong punch. It has many uses beyond your immediate needs. You can always create a wider or longer slot by making two or more "over-punches," though it takes some practices to make it look like only one punch made it. Better slots would be easier to make, though, with a punch the size of the desired hole. What size is that? I find that 1 1/4" fits most buckles well. Quote
MadMorbius Posted November 26, 2013 Report Posted November 26, 2013 I generally use a 1" bag punch on anything greater than in inch in width. Anything smaller, I use the same width as the belt. Quote
Members gentle ben Posted December 10, 2013 Author Members Report Posted December 10, 2013 Thanks for your help. I went and bought an "economy" 1" punch. It seems to work OK for the small number of belts I have been making. Quote
