I am making belts, and with regular-sized hides the math is about 1.25 square feet needed per belt. Now I have a need to use much smaller calfskins, and wondering how much the math typically changes when we're talking about 6-8 sq. ft. hides vs. 30 sq. ft. hides. I presume there is much more of the hide wasted simply based on geometry. Anyone have a ballpark guess? Thanks.
