pgivens Report post Posted November 20, 2013 I am trying to decide between the Osborne 155 revolving punch and the Osborne 153 spring punch with a few replacement tubes. The only reason i am really considering the spring punch is because the tubes on that go down to 000. The smallest tube for the revolving punch is 00. I am hoping to find someone who has both tools that can tell me if the tubes from one fit the other? It says they do not on the Osborne site, but they sure do look the same. Are the thread patterns the same? I like the idea of the convenience of the revolving punch obviously...changing tubes out on the 153 punch would probably be a hassle, but if I can't get a 000 tube on the 155 revolving punch, then that's probably what I'll have to do. Thanks in advance. Cheers http://www.csosborne.com/NO153.HTM http://www.csosborne.com/NO155.HTM
bruce johnson Report post Posted November 20, 2013 FWIW, I don't have a 000 tube to check. If the revolving punches have sizes you'd use, I'd get both. I'd have the spring punch set up for the 000, and the revolving punch for the others. That would save the hassle of changing tubes all the time with just the spring punch. pgivens Report post Posted November 21, 2013 Thanks Bruce. I would do that if money were no object, just trying to save myself $80 if possible o_0. How small are the holes punched by the 00 on the revolving punch? Small enough for stitch holes? That's all I want the 000 for. I know the 000 is 3/64 and the 00 is 1/16, but I'm assuming that the actual hole size will be bigger after the outside diameter of the tube pushes through the leather. PS - the round knife you sold me is working great, thanks again :D
