Members tomt Posted January 18, 2014 Author Members Report Posted January 18, 2014 Across tip to tip is 4 5/8" it measures 1 3/4 from the straight line from tip to tip down to the radius. Handle measures 7/8 across. You can make the handle as long as you want to fit your hand. I used a round knife that I had to trace around. Then to get my angle that I wanted I drew a line around 1/2" around the radius and then 3/4 then taper up to these lines. When you get your knife cut out try and make sure that around the radius is smooth with no divets around it. I used a file to shape the angle but you can grind it but try not to get it hot. You can use water to keep it cool while you work on it. After you get the shape you want then start polishing. 400 grit sandpaper up to 1200 grit then use jewelers rouge to finish it. For the rivets in the handle I got a 1/8" brazing rod and took the flucks off and use them. you can google knife making is where I got some of my ideas from. Take your time and you can do this. Hope this helps you. Good Luck. Quote
Members jmann8686 Posted January 19, 2014 Members Report Posted January 19, 2014 Awesome. Thank you for the pics and the tips. I have made two knifes before so I have a wee bit of experience with it but not much. So thank you. I hope to start working on it soon. Quote
