matching some old tooling on fenders

Recommended Posts

Here is some tooling I did to match an old saddle that needed some work. It's hard to see the old pattern, but I copied it and then added a little flair to it with some more depth and some more detailed decorative cuts. Will need to dye and finish these up but just wanted to see what you thought. Comments and critique always welcome. Later.

Wood,

Looks good. I did new fenders for an old Oliver saddle a couple years ago. Try as hard as I could, I could only find that they used 5 stamps on the whole thing - seeder, beveler, backgrounder, thumbprint shader, and a cam. I can hold that many stamps in my mouth. Much easier to duplicate these old patterns for dang sure.

I like it, Wood. I like studying old flowers and modernizing them - it sort of keeps the tradition alive but moving forward.
