pcf1000 Report post Posted February 3, 2014 Hi everyone. I'm an old hot rodder - after visiting your site a few times I decided to upholster my latest car myself. I have bought a Singer 111G155 seems to be in good condition. I have fitted some new parts including the needle bar and turned the motor pulley down so It runs a speed I think I can handle. I'm now almost ready to go with an investment of $250 Now here is my problem - the hook picks up my thread - turns it over the bobbin carrier and snags it around the tag that fits into the needle plate. Knowing nothing about sewing machines before buying this can someone tell me what I've got wrong or where the thread is supposed to go. There is not much information here in the UK.so any help would be much appreciated. Pete UK
Cobra Steve Report post Posted February 3, 2014 Hello. You could be using to large of a thread. You should be using no larger than a 138 size thread, top and bottom. Steve
Palermo Report post Posted February 5, 2014 I was going to say same thing as Steve
pcf1000 Report post Posted February 5, 2014 Thanks for the help - really appreciated. Tried the 138 thread and got a result. Made my first piece today - a gear shift boot - just the rest of the car to do now! Really pleased - thanks again Pete UK
