Members Traftos Posted March 2, 2014 Members Report Posted March 2, 2014 So I was given this machine by my work, it is an Adler 267. I have quite a few questions that hopefully you can help me with. I am inexperienced with sewing machines and this of course is not an ordinary machine to begin with. 1) does anyone have a copy of the original operating manual for this? I can only seem to find the DK Adler version and this seems to be somewhat different. This would probably answer my next questions as well. 2) can anyone show me how to properly thread this machine? I have a general idea but I want to make sure what I do is correct. 3) can anyone show how to properly thread the bobbin? 4) next it seems the machine just wants to go really fast and it is difficult to make it go slow, is that normal for these machines? 5) if I choose to sell this, what would be a fair cost for these? Seems after research they go for anywhere between 1100 and 2000. Thanks a lot in advance for any help. Pics attached. Quote
Members Anne Bonnys Locker Posted March 2, 2014 Members Report Posted March 2, 2014 Cannot help with a manual but there are a couple of ways to slow it down with the cheapest being a 50mm motor pulley. Medium range is a 1400RPM motor with small pulley and most expensive a servo motor. Some motors have better "lead in" than others and the clutch can be slipped but this obviously wears out the cork clutch plate. Sometimes just adjusting the foot plate to a higher angle can make it easier to control. Quote Darren Brosowski
