Members tiggertlee Posted March 5, 2014 Members Report Posted March 5, 2014 Having some fun trying out different techniques with this test: 1 Carving: Took some images, traced them into inkscape, produces SVG's then scaled them to fit the holster. Practiced some basic carving techniques, I need way more practice for sure... 2 Played around with painting, colored the flames and the background...used tandy acrylics for that... 3 Resist, couple coats of super sheen over the whole scene, letting it dry each step 24 hours.... 4 Mahogany antique, slapped that on then buffed it off with a paper towel.... 5 another coat of resisit, wait 24 hours 6 wet formed/glue/stitch. Still had some run off! Agh! Maybe I should have wet formed before painting step 2? Any comments or feedback is appreciated! Quote
