tiggertlee Report post Posted March 5, 2014 Having some fun trying out different techniques with this test: 1 Carving: Took some images, traced them into inkscape, produces SVG's then scaled them to fit the holster. Practiced some basic carving techniques, I need way more practice for sure... 2 Played around with painting, colored the flames and the background...used tandy acrylics for that... 3 Resist, couple coats of super sheen over the whole scene, letting it dry each step 24 hours.... 4 Mahogany antique, slapped that on then buffed it off with a paper towel.... 5 another coat of resisit, wait 24 hours 6 wet formed/glue/stitch. Still had some run off! Agh! Maybe I should have wet formed before painting step 2? Any comments or feedback is appreciated!
ninety5percent Report post Posted May 4, 2014 Looks good. Did you dye the edges or was that antiqued too?
