Contributing Member Jordan Posted October 12, 2008 Contributing Member Report Posted October 12, 2008 (edited) Well here it is finally finished and ready for delivery. Holster took 3 tries to get it right but the belt went together on the 1st try. It was alot of fun to make. It is 8/9wt and the liner is 3/4wt or thereabouts. Finish is hand rubbed Olive oil which was not quite dry when I took the photo so I will probably need to touch it up in the morning. the entire set was hand sewn with tejas white waxed thread. I started with W. Ghormley patterns which I modified somewhat, He does some great work with patterns and leather. The belt has 12 cartridge loops and the holster is formed to a Ruger 44mag Redhawk. Oh yeh The belt is sized at 37 inches at the middle hole. Edited October 12, 2008 by Jordan Quote

Contributing Member rdb Posted October 12, 2008 Contributing Member Report Posted October 12, 2008 You are getting to be the Jack of all trades Jordan. Good on you!. Nice job, and it looks like you are mastering that new machine of you. Seems to lay down a good stitch. Quote
Contributing Member Jordan Posted October 12, 2008 Author Contributing Member Report Posted October 12, 2008 Yeh, I am still having trouble learning to sew with my Neels 5. Nothing wrong with the machine just me. My hand sewing seems to be progressing faster than my machine sewing. Quote
Billy P Posted October 13, 2008 Report Posted October 13, 2008 Hey Jordan, great looking rig. Man you're getting better by leaps and bounds. Keep on practicing and doing the great work you're doing now. I love to see the things that you come up with. It seems that you really are doing what we all talk about and that is making the next project better than the last was. My hat's off to you, Billy P Quote
Contributing Member Jordan Posted October 13, 2008 Author Contributing Member Report Posted October 13, 2008 Thank you all for the kind words, the customer will be picking it up today and I believe he will be pleased that he will be able to wear it next week during the deer hunt. I suspect I may get some word of mouth orders but my price is definitely going up. He got a great deal at $255.00 I am thinking that $300 for a minimally tooled set is a good starting point, and increase from there. Quote
Members Surveyor Posted October 13, 2008 Members Report Posted October 13, 2008 Some nice work indeed! Yes, you should go up on your prices; $225 for border stamping at the most. That B/W you did was a lot of good work. He got something hand made that will last a long time with proper care, not an article mass produced in China. Quote
Members BOOMSTICKHolsters Posted October 13, 2008 Members Report Posted October 13, 2008 He got a bargain, alright. That looked like a lot of work. You should have offered him the lefty version as well, for an upgrade.... you know, so the pistol won't get in the way when he un-slings the rifle.......yeah..... that's it... Quote
