Redochre Report post Posted April 21, 2014 Hi guys. I bought a half hide from a reenactment fair over the weekend & I'm not sure what it is. It has "new finish fireman boot leather" written on it. Any ideas if its veg tan or if its even cow? Is there a standard for fireman boots? I can tell you its black, been refinished, approx 3mm thick, stitches well but refuses to burnish.
