Members joefriday Posted August 3, 2014 Members Report Posted August 3, 2014 Hello, I've been lurking on here for a bit and it seems that you all have a great forum with with friendly folks. I've been sewing for a while but I'm not a master craftsman by any stretch of the imagination. I sew leather from time to time but mostly sew heavy nylon webbing and such. I buy and sell surplus military gear mostly and many of the items are in need of repair. I am friends with the owner of a large nylon gear manufacturing company (London Bridge Trading Co.) and he has supplied me with a Consew 206RB and Juki 980 bar tacker. I enjoy using these machines very much and they have completed every task that I've thrown at them. I'm not technically savvy regarding combinations of thread sizes for top and bottom spools and such but yesterday I tried for the first time 3 cord (207) thread top and bottom on the 206 and it worked well. I did have to play with the tension a little to get it right but it did what I needed. I'd love to get something like a Juki TNU243 for really heavy stuff but I don't do enough of that sewing to make that sort of investment..at the moment anyway. So my question... I'd like to switch out my clutch motor for a servo motor. I'm currently looking at the Consew Premier CSM550 and the Consew CS1000. Can any of the experts on here please suggest one or the other and explain why? Thank you very much for any information. Best, Rob Quote
