tashabear Posted October 24, 2008 Report Posted October 24, 2008 I'm making this padfolio for a friend and customer in the SCA. The design is her coat of arms. Digital mockup of the design: Carved design: Tooled dragon: Dragon closeup: Partially painted: The lower part of the shield and the background will be black, as well as the claws, tongue, teeth and horn. The eye will be black with a white sclera. (I suggested other colors, but she wants what she wants.) The whole thing will be stitched together with red cord. I used artist's acrylic to do the painting, in titanium white and alizarin crimson. I'm really happy with the results, but I need stiffer brushes to push the paint around. It has a fairly heavy body and soft brushes don't work well to cover larger areas. I just need to fix the light in my kitchen and I'll be able to finish it. Quote
Schno Posted October 24, 2008 Report Posted October 24, 2008 Very nice, tasha! Heraldry is a great subject for leatherwork. I'm looking forward to seeing the finished product! Quote Schno - Los Angeles, CA
