Members WilliamsDeeLux Posted October 15, 2014 Members Report Posted October 15, 2014 I am working more with the wet molding process. I was wondering if you do your carving and tooling before or after wet molding. Like on a solo seat. Thanks in advance Quote
Members Treed Posted October 15, 2014 Members Report Posted October 15, 2014 I will depend on what you are making. A holster I will carve and tool first because the backing is not stable enough to tool against. A cell phone case to something similar that I use a hard wood, plastic that the leather is molded over then I tool after the molding is done. When I mold after the tooling the molding will never be as detailed as with out. I invested in a vacuum bag system and it works great for molding after the tooling.
