kndust Report post Posted November 11, 2014 I have been approached by some to create some leather journals 5"/ 7" with cotton/linen paper for them, to sell in a metaphysical store what I need to know is what should I charge wholesale in order for both of us to make a profit from them? These can be tooled and tooled journals and different sizes also how should I go about it so it could be beneficial to all parties?
DavidL Report post Posted November 11, 2014 In that situation I would talk with the store owner for the price that they want to sell it for retail. Once you both agree on a retail price find the price you are willing to sell it wholesale - 85 percent, 80 percent, 60 percent retail. Do try to get them to buy it as inventory, rather than on consignment as they already shown interest in buying your product. Also get paperwork, bank statements or email of the deal to prevent legal headaches. Any extra items you can try to get on consignment with the store. Make sure to have paperwork done proper. kevinp Report post Posted November 11, 2014 What we try to do is rent space in shops eg: rent a shelf or a table, the goods then stay ours and we can sell them for what we want. The shop can also take a 10% handling charge for selling any of the items. This works very well as we can sell our items for what we want and the items stay ours and the retailer has not got to try to make a profit from expensive items.
