Members dogboy Posted December 1, 2014 Members Report Posted December 1, 2014 Hello, Newb reading Leathercraft Tools by Al Stohlman and find a description of how to make a push/pull beveller based on a Craftool 8970 Smooth Beveller. Problem is that there is no actual pic or drawing showing the size or shape of the face of this tool. Tandy has a chart that suggests approximates, but I haven’t the experience to be able to discern the most appropriate substitute. Any chance someone reading has either tried to construct this tool or has the 8970 and might be willing/able to compare it to a more modern stamp and suggest a compatible replacement to be used in the construction of this tool? Jaymack Posted December 1, 2014 Report Posted December 1, 2014 I think you replace the first number with the first letter of the tool type, in this case a B for beveler. Look up a B970 beveler. Quote
