making a bezel with snakeskin

has anyone tried to hold stones in place with snakeskin?

im guessing that its too thin and brittle to make a good bezel out of,

but maybe someone else has better knowladge then me on this =)

is bezel the right word?

Bezel is the right word, but I wouldn't rely on the leather to hold the stone in place; I'd use epoxy. Or you could set the stone in a metal bezel, and set that in the leather, as it usually has a lip round the outside that you could sandwich between two layers.
