Members SmoothZey Posted November 13, 2008 Members Report Posted November 13, 2008 (edited) it may seem simple but .. cant you add some hole on the straps ? so he could wear em tight ? ... or depending on what kind of temperature he use them .. add some padding .. and to give a medieval/barbarian look ... you could help him put some fur to cover the foam padding ... i created my bracer to be worn as mentioned earlier ... over a shirt ... and last time i used em .. its was inside and it was so hot in here that i wasnt wearing my shirt .. so the fastest but temporary solution i found is to wear sport wrist band ... ( u know cotton wirst band) .. so its was tight .. but i think its a better idea to find a permanent solution ... Edited November 13, 2008 by SmoothZey Quote
Members calanneh Posted November 18, 2008 Author Members Report Posted November 18, 2008 Here is a pic my my son at the Ren Fest with his bracers, belt and sword frog on. He is a bit of a show-off, hence the goofy pose and weird look on his face...lol. We ended up adding some cloth covered foam to the inside of the bracers and the grieves to tighten them up some. It also padded the bracers so he can wear them comfortable without sleeves. He didnt get the leather armour gloves finished in time to wear them. He (says he) will be adding more stuff to the ensemble over the next few weeks. It is more Japanese anime assasin than Ren Fest period, but it's what he wanted to wear..... Speaking of!! I didnt get a pic, but there was a guy in full Star Wars Stormtrooper armour with a kilt and Scottish ensemble over the top of it.....LOL William Quote William Tandy Store #17 800-772-2629 Union City, CA

Yes, but any swords or daggers have to be secured using cable-ties so they can not be pull on anybody. If you are caught with a weapon out, you get arrested. This photo was out in the parking lot, so I let him take the cable-ties off just for the photo. Just about everybody out there has swords, daggers, flails, etc etc.....
