Members Russter Posted February 16, 2015 Members Report Posted February 16, 2015 (edited) A bombard is a leather Jug that the beer comes in before you pour it into the tankards. The most difficult part I found was to seal the inside. I did find a recipe from the 1800's it included how to make leather black naturally !!. Hi There, I'd be interested in hearing the details of this. Currently I wax our tankards by submersion in a large double boiler filled with 6-8kg of hot/liquid beeswax. I'll be making some bombards in the not to distant future as a commission. I'm still considering using brewers pitch for certain projects. This will almost certainly be a pitch/beeswax mixture to reduce the brittle nature. Cheers, Mr Ogre Edited February 16, 2015 by Russter Quote
