Members Discdog15 Posted January 22, 2015 Members Report Posted January 22, 2015 I bought what I thought was a high quality side of 8-9oz leather. After getting it I cut a belt then went to get it wet for carving, the leather didn't take the water as I have experienced in all my years. It only would stay wet for maybe 10 minutes then in was bone dry. Carving was the hardest I have ever experienced and looked like I had just learned to carve. Has anyone experienced this? Is there anything I can do with it? I have bought economy leathers that have carved much better than this. i have never had this happen before with any leather. Please advise.... Quote
