jomax Report post Posted July 9, 2015 Hi, new comer here, i just acquired an old 29k62 and spent the day cleaning and trying to figure it out. i read another post about how to check the wear on an old machine by the amount of movement in the needle housing, the more movement, the amount of stitches per inch you'll get will increase. my question is how much slop can i have before its time to rebuild the drive cam? mine has about 1/4 of an inch movement from one side to the other....am i ok for awhile? how hard is this repair? thanks for any info you can give- Jordan
PonyEdwards Report post Posted July 16, 2015 Jomax: almost all of your questions, and more are answered in the leather sewing machines forum. The Wiz has a very detailed explanation as to how travel you should expect prior to rebuilding.
