DevilDog04 Report post Posted December 30, 2015 My name is Chris and I live in east texas just south of Longview. Prior Marine Corps and dang proud of that. I've recently gotten in to leather craft and found this forum. Looks like a good bit of information here that should deem helpful! I'm a firearms enthusiast so my goal with leather craft is to make holsters, gun slings, etc.I'm sure I'll have lots of questions for you guys. I started out with the deluxe kit from Tandy leather. I've since ordered some thingst that weren't included in that kit that I figure I'll need. Like a wing divider, poly roller, hand stitching kit, few other tools. King's X Report post Posted December 30, 2015 Good for you. Welcome to the forum and thank you for your service. Don't forget to use the 'Search' box at the top right corner when searching for information. You will not believe the wealth of information on here. Happy New Year! DevilDog04 Report post Posted December 30, 2015 Thank ya'll. Oh i've used the search button quite a bit the last couple of days. Some of the holsters you guys make are beautiful. I hope to get to that point one day. Luckily, i've got an old friend from work, he's retired now, that has had a saddle shop for years. So I've got some local help if I need some hands on training! 25b Report post Posted December 30, 2015 (edited) Don't waste your time with the search box at the top of the page....it's worse than worthless. The only effective way to search this site is to go to Google and type this in the box: site:leatherworker.net whatever you're searching for goes here And you'll get FAR better (and actually USABLE) results that way. Oh, and I'm prior service (Army) also...lived in Marshall, TX and Tyler, TX for a while, so familiar with East Texas. DevilDog04 Report post Posted January 6, 2016 Hey everyone seems to be a bunch of East TX ppl in here, Im in Nacogdoches. Not far at all. I grew up in Center. My folks still live down there. Any good leather places in Nacogdoches?
showcattle Report post Posted January 6, 2016 No where to buy anything really. Hobby lobby has some basic stuff, but its all real simple tandy kits. I go to tandy stores when I go to Dallas to visit family sometimes or order online. I don't go to Center much anymore since Wolfs closed down, I live in Chireno on the way to San Augustine.
