Members Kiwishovel Posted January 11, 2016 Members Report Posted January 11, 2016 Hi all, I am new to this site and need help. I have just got a lovely singer 7-5 and I am having problems threading the machine. Does anyone have any pictures as I think a part is missing around the tension spring. Thanks, Brett Canberra, Australia Quote
dirtclod Posted January 12, 2016 Report Posted January 12, 2016 Search singer 7 5 manual. It shows how to thread it. Quote
Members Kiwishovel Posted January 12, 2016 Author Members Report Posted January 12, 2016 Hi, I have downloaded the manual but it does not show how it is threaded before and after the bottom tension spring. I seem to be missing something around the take up spring, the take up spring does not move during sewing and the top stitch thread loops around the bottom of the needle. This causes the stitch to stop picking up the bottom stitch and brake the top stitch. Quote

It tells how to thread it. I don't have a machine to look at, I just found the manual. Quote
Members Kiwishovel Posted January 12, 2016 Author Members Report Posted January 12, 2016 Thanks, I have that manual and this is were I get confused. In the manual (page 8) it states after into the loop of the thread take up-spring, under the staple (7,Fig8 and9). I do not have this staple, My machine is different to the 7-31. I have a vibrating foot not a alternating foot. I am not sure if I am missing this part (I can not seem to find a spot for it to go) or I am thinking it all wrong. If some one has a 7-5 and they could take a photo that would be great. Kiwishovel Quote
