Guest Lance Report post Posted May 25, 2016 Hi! So I'm a nerd, and I need a leather jacket for a cosplay. The problem is I can't find one with the right design. Question 1- would it be easier to buy a similar mass produced leather jacket and get it modified or to just commission a custom one? And question 2- can you perform your suggestion?? Thanks! Brocade Report post Posted May 26, 2016 It would depend on the price of the base jacket and the modifications you want made. Can you share a photo of what you're looking for?
Guest Lance Report post Posted May 26, 2016 Thanks for responding! So that. I couldnt find a picture of decent quality where she wasnt wearing a scarf; theres a leather strap that keeps the neck together. But the problem is i'm a boy so In order to make it more masculine I was thinking of just getting a sleeveless motorcycle jacket and finding a person to tailor in the black stripes and the neck strap. If something like that is possible.
Guest Lance Report post Posted May 27, 2016 I'm sorry to double post, but I'd like to mention that even if it was made custom, I'd like it to be as similar and functional to a real motorcycle jacket as possible. I'm not interested in looking exactly like the character, I'm interested in posing as a realistic male version of the character.
Brocade Report post Posted May 27, 2016 I may be able to help you with this! I've done a lot of historical and cosplay outfits over the years. It's one of my Specialties. I am also semi-familiar with this character... (I am a nerd, too) Tailoring this seems simpler than actually purchasing a jacket and modifying it. I did a search and couldn't find leather jackets you could modify to get this style. The materials for such a project have the potential to be relatively expensive, however. If you want to discuss budget and a potential commission, as wells as give me more details on sizing and when you need it, you can contact me at my business email; crystalsgoodiebag@gmail.com
