I can see why it lists such heavy thread/cord being a shoe stitcher.   I have a Peerless 30 I modified to sew a special item and I often run 3 and 4 cord on it.  Works great and stitches beautifully with even these lighter weight cords.    I'm using Randall and UL needles in mine.

They are well built and make a very distinct sound when compared to the American or Randal / Campbell. My Grandfather bought the one I have from the West Side Harness Shop in Sioux City Iowa back in the 1970's he actually purchased the entire shop and I still have several thousand pounds of harness hardware hanging around here.

I have about 200 diamond point shoe awls for the champion if anyone is interested in them as well.
