very thin leather for lining watch straps?

Does anyone know where to get the very thin liners that you see for watch straps? I have heard it referred to as calfskin and kid leather and even moleskin...

the key is that it is almost paper thin. I have a skiver but it is difficult to make something like this unless I am starting with the wrong leather.
