johnatl Report post Posted July 28, 2016 Hoping I can get some leads. I've always been hand sewing what items I've been making, holsters, sheaths, cases and binder covers. My aging hands are just not happy anymore doing so! As far as I can see for now it will be a hobby, but one I hope will soon pay for itself and then some. I keep looking at the Tippmann Boss, but for the same cost I see new machines are really not much more, and I'm going to tire of pulling that handle! I keep reading all the information on the various machines and honestly I'm still confused! LOTS of great information here and trying to decide on a machine is tuff. I do know I want to be able to sew up to maybe 1/2". I doubt I'll do much of that really, I would rather have it and not need it than need it and cant do it. I do have a budget, so I'm open to used if needed or possible. I know there are a lot of good honest dealers here, yet id prefer to get a machine locally in Atlanta, and I hope they will be leather knowledgeable and be able to ensure the machine is setup for leather.. I will no doubt need help and guidance on what machine and then for service if/when needed. If any forum member is here and has one? let me know Now all that said, is buying from a distant vendor problematic? Thanks all for your input.
