Does anyone here know if there is a mold or blue mold for a crimson trace that can be switched to other molds when that need is presented?

Thanks for all the input I am going to cross post.

From the work I've done with lasers, OLDNSLOW, I have learned one thing for sure, . . . DO NOT make it a tight fit, . . . very tightly molded, etc.

Crimson trace lasers for the front of the trigger guard are not much different one from the other, . . . just the mounting going back behind it.

What I try to do is make a holster with a bit of molding to grab the slide, . . . and for the barrel to butt into, . . . but the rest is a bag, more than a holster.

Otherwise, some of the lasers can be turned on by the holster.

May God bless,

Dwight

Thanks for the heads up, still hope someone might know if a mold is out there, I had several requests or questions about doing one with the laser this weekend at an event we did.

As far as I know, what I have seen is pistol with, or pistol without. Why sell you one thing, if they can sell you two, right? And Dwight is right about the holster turning on the laser. Did one for my wife's SD40, and it takes some positioning to move the switch so it doesn't come on when holstered.

I know, that isn't the answer you want, but it is the best I can offer. If you want the real poop, get it straight from the horse's... mouth? Contact info for Rings

I've seen 'dummy' lasers, but have not found the CT.  Then, teh lasers I saw were the price of a dummy gun, so maybe just as well to just get the gun.

I have loaned 'dummy' guns, and always got them all back --- except one :rolleyes2:

well I did call crimson trace and for holster makers they are now selling shells for the lasers they are 20.00 plus tax you need to have a FB page or a website but no problem buying.

I'm not seein' it, Ron.  Aren't they different depending on the gun model?  Not like the TL- series where it tightens on a rail...

:dunno:

they are different and model specific, however instead of buying 2 molds, one with and one without, now you can just get the one at a savings of 30, 40 dollars, that is the point that was trying to make.  My take on it is that Crimson Trace was asked to make the shells available to holster makers at a reasonable price so that the makers wouldn't need 2 molds of the same gun, one with and one without, just get the one mold slide on the shell when needed or if needed being you would have saved the pattern. And Crimson Trace complied and made those available.

Gotcha.  My brain read you trying to put one for the Glock on a Sig (etc.).  Pay no attention to me .. carry on ;)

I was, am bending kydex and going to start doing leather.  For instance I just order from CT the hand guard laser for sig 938 which also fits 238. Depending on your mold you may have to modify slightly with a dremel if the trigger guard is blocked off.  So instead of 4 molds you can use 2 plus a $20 laser shell. I have ther redfeather 938 mold and it works well
