I have a holster to do soon and can't seem to nail down a dummy gun. It is a New Model Ruger Super Blackhawk .44 Magnum w/7.5" barrel. And to make it more interesting, it has a rail and scope. Does anyone know where I can find one?

I just finished one not very long ago. I found the dummy on Bunkhouse Tools. It doesn't have a rail, but it's probably the closest your going to get without the actual gun. The holster I made is for the 5 1/2", but I used the 7 1/2" mold. The gun you see in the pictures was only used for photos after the holster was completed.

Ya know, I had been to almost every corner of the interweb looking for a 44 Magnum, and I actually saw the Bunkhouse one... but I was going under the impression it was the newer style of revolver the other hunters around here are using. In fact, on another board, there was a pic of the holster he was asking about, and it showed the "Dirty Harry" styled Magnum, not the old Hogleg.  So I called the guy and had him send a pic. Long story mildly shortened, yeah, the Bunkhouse should work. I just need to adjust slightly for the scope. Thanks SLP!

By the way, that was a very nice holster you did.

Thank you. Glad it is going to work out. I'm looking forward to seeing the finished holster. Please do post.

No, thank you! I actually had some concerns that the Bunkhouse might not work, but I stopped at a gunshop yesterday to ask. They said the only major difference was the trigger guard is squared/fancier, than the new model. I can work with that. The only other big hurdle, is allowing for the scope. I should be ok there. And, since it is going to be a chest rig, and not a shoulder harness, I will have to work that out as well. Got something going in my head, and will work on it when I get home Monday. It's cancer treatment week end, so I'm doing nothing more than doctor visits and holster sales to unsuspecting armed citizens ;)
