How to recognize difference between top grain and corrected grain

Recommended Posts

Hi There,

I'm now about a year working with leather and trying to work with all kinds off leather.

So i know what kind of leather i prefer.

One time i did find a great piece off veg tanned top grain leather. Its patina is beautiful after usage.

Now i did buy some more and i thought i was close to the veg tanned i had before but i wondered

The left one on the picture is a from my old veg tanned, right one is from my new piece.

I there a way to see if its also top grained or maybe its corrected grain?

i find it annoying that i don't know what i did buy and if its not what i expect...

Sorry for my bad english...

thanks
