Members leolun Posted May 12, 2017 Members Report Posted May 12, 2017 Hello! I need to glue the leather to the cardboard. Which glue to choose for this? Sorry, my english is not so good. I will be grateful for any help ^_^ Quote
Members KittenThrasher Posted May 12, 2017 Members Report Posted May 12, 2017 Depends on what you are going to make, 'bit more information would help, generally I use contact adhesive like Evo-Stik - there are many 'general purpose' types which would do the job, PVA white glue would stick leather to cardboard quite well. PVA is less expensive, contact glue might be stronger. there are many glues that would work well. What are you making? Quote
Members leolun Posted May 13, 2017 Author Members Report Posted May 13, 2017 Thanks! I think contact glue will not work, because I need time to form folds. That is, it is necessary that the glue does not dry out instantly. In addition, I need to paste together the end and the cover. Endpaper will stick on the cardboard and on the leather that is at the edge. If PVA copes with this it will be fine. But is not yellow paper from PVA? And, is PVA durable? Quote
Members KittenThrasher Posted May 13, 2017 Members Report Posted May 13, 2017 Good quality PVA is durable and long lasting, 'might be worth going to Youtube and checking out some bookbinding videos, that might give you a better idea. Quote
