Creed Report post Posted January 8, 2009 Does anyone have any suggestions or tips for design a small IWB holster for either a small .32 revolver or a .38 SW revolver. I want to be able to place it low in the waistband in about the 1:00 position, sorta as if "mexican carry" but in a holster with single clip to the belt, I've got a heavy duty spring clip for it, just need some ideas for design, pics, ideas, comments, suggestions, whatever you've got would be appreciated. Lobo Report post Posted January 8, 2009 The steel belt clips, in my experience, need to be placed in an offset position for revolver holsters. Placing the clip in the area of the cylinder places the clip out where it tends to catch on things. Placing the clip over the trigger guard area makes the holster a little less bulky, a little more comfortable to wear. The one-o'clock carry position you describe is very good for concealment and for access. But it does tend to be a little uncomfortable when seated, when getting into or out of a car, etc. As always, my opinions are free and worth every penny of the price. Retention is provided by the belt, and very tight molding can make drawing the pistol very difficult to do, frequently pulling the holster out of the waistband with the weapon. Thank you, that is a good idea putting the clip in the area of the trigger guard. My plan for this is to make it low enough for the grip to be slightly under my belt line so it would bend with my leg when sitting, initial testing with just the gun in that position it seems to be ok. But I guess we'll see when I 'm done....I'm doing this one with the scraps of what I purchased for my first holster, so worst case scenario I'm not out anything if it doesn't work, I could still use the clip on something else. What do yall think about how to put the clip in, should I stitch another strap of leather across the top where the clip would go to put the retainers in the top layer so there would be nothing on the inside of the holster for the gun to catch on?
