Members Indy Posted July 29, 2006 Members Report Posted July 29, 2006 (edited) Hello, I just found this board by surving and looking for some leather info and found this nice forum. I allways liked leather but didn't even knew of the existence of leathercarving 2 years ago. It happened that I was working on a lodge in british columbia as a helping hand for the whole summerseason. I visited Prince George where I found a Tandy leather suplier. I bought a starter kit for leathercarving and there everything started. Since I had no luck in getting a apprenticeship in saddlemaking here in Europe or even Canada I started to educate myself in leather craft, although I also visited a course of Rene Berends once. Since a half year, I'm nearly working full time in leather and I'm starting my own leather craft buissenes in October. I'm doing many different pieces of leather, partly own creations but mostly with patterns. I also do restoration work on ww1 and ww2 militaria. I'm happy that I found a nice place to chat with other leather crafters online and I'm looking forward to nice conversations!
