ThreeLions Report post Posted October 11, 2018 Hello all, I'm brand new to leather working, being primarily a woodworker. I'm making some British campaign furniture and leather is used for the seats. I plan on using some copper rivets during the project either #9 or #12. I frequently buy and restore old woodworking tools and some years ago I bought a random lot. Included was a tool I didn't recognize. I later learned it was a rivet setter. Here it is: It has a number 2 marked on it. My guess is that is it's size. I"m guessing that I know the answer, but would I need a specific sized rivet setter for use with #9 or #12 copper rivet? I'm not sure that this one would work as it does seem rather large. gamli Report post Posted October 12, 2018 While that setter may work, you would be better off with one thats the proper size. You could use a couple of scrap pieces of leather to test that setter before deciding to buy one. If it does not work, Tandy sells one that will
