Members switchkid0 Posted December 8, 2006 Members Report Posted December 8, 2006 Hi folks. I've done a bit of leatherwork when I was a kid, and just recently got the urge again. To be honest, I got a new gun and was too stingy to buy a holster, so I decided to make my own. This has led me to a few more projects, and rekindled my interest in the craft. I think I'd like to try to make some items to sell to people other than my friends and family. What are you guys making that sells well? I can see myself making holsters, knife sheaths, and Cowboy Action Shooting stuff. I work as a ranch hand, so making/ repairing tack seems logical. But what other things, especially small inexpensive items, are you folks producing? Please feel free to respond to me as though I were a simple-minded child. I seem to learn faster that way. And, I have a girlfriend, so I'm used to it. Thanks in advance for your help. Richard Quote
Members JAFO Posted December 9, 2006 Members Report Posted December 9, 2006 Try these pouches in various sizes. http://www.nativetech.org/clothing/pouch/p...ouch/index.html I make them from medicine bag size up to belt pouch size. Their fun to make and folks get a kick out of them. You might also try working with rawhide. You dont see much of that around and Dixie Gun Works sells a pattern package specificaly for rawhide articles. Match boxes, needle cases, small and large boxes, etc.... Have fun Quote
