The Surefire Way To Prevent Dried Dye From Running

long story short I made a belt, put 3 coats of black dye on it, the 2 coats of feibings tan-kote

and then realized that because of my hugely inadequate buffing procedures....the dye is running...:(

so I've been BUFFING and WASHING the dyed belt ....doing everything i can think off to remove that excess dye...

is there any sure fire tips to either get rid of the running dye....help it completely dry or cure...?

is buffing the best thing to do? im prepared to buff it until my arms fall off if that is a tried and true measure..should i wash it a bunch more times? ill do anything....

Thanks fro your time. I have searched around A LOT to see if a guide was available...but nothing popped out...

First off, let the dye dry completely....a day or more if you have to. THEN buff it until no more dye rubs off. Once you've achieved that, apply your sealer/finish.

Black dye is notorious for being the one with the most rub off. If you're going to do solid black items, type "vinegaroon" in the search box (lots of topics on it) and try that out.
