Unusual Swivel Knife And A Very Strange Knife

Recommended Posts

I just came across these

The swivel knife is made of brass (?) very solid the yoke does not rotate but it rotates on the screw threads, the blade is very thick and solid into the body I guess after a lot of sharpening it would be gone, no makers name or numbers

The other knife (I have 2) is very cheaply made of a brass like sheet it uses a half one of the old fashion razor blade which you need to snap in half to fit and use

it has the makers name Stocks and is patented in the US, I can find nothing about it. It feels down right dangerous to use with a half broken razor blade

I like collecting unusual old kit :-)

I have one that is made out of steel and you have to loosen the threads a bit so it will turn left and right. I have never seen a brass one. I collect swivel knives.....If you would like to part down the road just drop me a line. Thanks.

It looks to me like the barrel on the knife is nothing like a barrel nut. The blade Is a bolt (threaded into the nut) and the head cut off and sharpened. Grab the blade tight and it will likely unthread.

The Swivel knife is new to me. The other knife is a Furrier`s knife used by fur makers (furrier`s). They use razor blades and thin utility blades, here in Scandinavia every leather shop sells them. They are not expensive.
