finishing is ruining my finishes.

Recommended Posts

I've been having a lot of trouble with things with initials on them. I want to use an oppossing color, but every time I hit the belt with a finish, and I've tried several now, it wipes off the color. I've even been trying using dye to paint the letters, but the eco-flow stuff wipes away, and my Tandy store only has 3 colors of oil dye, and even then I can't do any outline in any actual colors. It also does it, to some extent, to my antiquing. I know that spraying is an option, but from what I've gathered, a lot of finishes crack when sprayed on. So please, let me know what I'm missing here. Thanks, aaron.

Now have in mind....I don't use the eco flow line at all and I have no idea how it reacts to anything.

I use Angelus spirit dyes, I love the vivid colors they make and they don't go away or bleed with the finishes I use (Fiebing and the old Tandy antiques). If these are better or worse than others, well I let you tell me what you think:-)
