Border Stamping 101?

Recommended Posts

Hello everyone. Well, I've been making holsters now for almost a year. I recently completed my first western rig. It was basic with no stamping per the customers request. Which was good for me at the time because I don't know much at all about border stamping. I've got the tools, but haven't really put forth the effort to teach myself (hate wasting expensive leather for one). So, can someone point me to a tutorial of some sort on border stamping belts and holsters?

Apply these stamping methods to the type of stamp you are going to use

whether it is a border stamp Camo veiners, rope

borders aren't very hard compared to other types of tooling.

hope this helps

Thanks, I'll check those out. Not much bandwidth where I'm at right now though.

Here's a question though: are the borders usually marked with wing dividers?

I use a wing divider to space the border on my work. Use a light line for the veiner and camo tools if you don't want it to show since they are curved.
