  1. I'm new to the sewing world... If I get a rolling foot kit for a Juki ddl-5550, do I have to get it re-timed? I've read that these machine are NOT leather sewing machine and is not suitable for upholstery (in which I intend to use this machine for) due to feeding issues with upholstery materials, but I've already went to the point of "NO RETURNS"... So I would just have to make the best of this machine... I just want to reupholster my car seats and add a few diamond stitch pattern to a few trims. Has anyone accidently bought this machine and used this machine for upholstery because they didn't have any other choice and had satisfatory results with it? I was reading a thread with another guy who had a similar issue as mine, but the thread went dead. I should have done my research carefully before I went out and bought this machine. I always thought a sewing machine is just a sewing machine and can sew anthing you want in any pattern you want as long as you're great at it...and the word "industrial" makes a sewing machine the god father of sewing machines. Reading this forum has lifted my ignorance and enlightened me to a whole new perspective on sewing machine.
  2. I suggest you go with the machine that has a walking foot... I don't really know much about sewing machine for I am a begginner... But the machine with a walking foot seems to make life much easier from what I have read in this forum and other forums...
