Western Biker Saddlebags,

Recommended Posts

Well i had these posted in the show off section and after "chancey" saw em he suggested they should be in "motorcycles" so here they are,

all comments /critiques welcomed.

Well was asked a couple months ago to make these for a customer,he picked the leather and I bought the lace and put em all together,

I did not use a pattern, made my own up out of poster board then transferred them to the skin,

It was then just a matter of cutting them out and lacing them up.

I had them on the side n just picked em up while I watched TV,did all the lacing with triple loop,

He wanted something he could throw over the bike or his shoulder with ease when he is out and about.

Pics are not brilliant but I am not much of a photographer,

Dude your work is always stunning!! I do exactly the same. I have the pattern pack for saddle bags but every bike I work on has its own challenges so I always have to make the patterns from scratch.

Poster board or foam core. Very easy to mick up and tape together for a final look before you actually cut any leather.

Cheers JJ!!

that is exactly how I do most of my bags, because clients want off the wall shapes or sizes,

I am doing a set of what I would call "rollbags" to fit the side racks on a german built BOOM trike, took me nearly 3 hours just to make up one bag out of cardboard just to use as a pattern. They are like a pannier sized tool roll with a flat back on them.

will post the bags on here when I get them done.

I appreciate your compliments on my work,as I said before I live in envy of your wonderful carving work.

cheers
