Quick Question: Corbin Leather

Recommended Posts

Does anyone know who makes/supplies the leather to Corbin for their Seats?

I have to see if I can match a saddle tannish colored and textured leather they used on a seat for a customer. It's sort of a lizard/snake scaled pattern.

Thanks for even doing a little thinking for me.....

Hey Dave,

Taking a look around their website I did find a few things to get you closer. First off, the top of the saddle is leather but the sides are vinyl.

Second, you are right about the texture being printed on, it is not a real exotic leather. As for the manufacturer, I haven't found that yet but I'm still looking.

From the CanAm Spyder Forums via a post a guy made after taking a tour of the Corbin plant (you get a tour if you take your seat in to them in person to have one made at Corbin):

You can see a piece of the neat snake-skin leather I was talking about.

Corbin gets all their leather from a single tanner in the San Francisco bay area. Mike Corbin said that the leather is the best quality they can find.

He likes to be able to call up and talk to, or easily visit, his suppliers...... so if at all possible, he works with people close to the facility, and smaller in size.

Only Tanneries I know of in No. Cal able to supply the volume that Corbin would use is either Siegel or Hide House. I'd start with those two.

If I remember correctly didn't Steven mention something about selling to Corbin in the "Happy Cow" thread or the one right after when that guy was bashing him about shipping? I can't find em cuz I'm illiterate but i think maybe.

Yunno, you're right, I remember that now, too.

This is why I love this place. Thanks!
