  1. Hi everyone. I am new here to the forums, and I just want to say that I am very glad to have found such a place filled with interesting and involved people willing to share their knowledge. I was given about ten of these rivets by my special lady's father, who was a leatherworker in the 70's. They are the most fantastic rivets I have ever used. They are extremely easy to apply (just squeeze gently with a pliers) and they are incredibly strong (impossible to separate after application, really). They aren't soft and hollow like those jiffy rivet types, so they don't dent or rattle. They say U.S.F on one side, and on the other there is patent number 832679. I have looked extensively to try to find out what these types of rivets are called, and to find a source for more, but I haven't been able to find anything that is readily available or of this high quality. They remind me of the kind of rivets Levi's uses on their jeans, but even more well made. Any insights would be greatly appreciated! Thank you, Kevin
