UrbanMiss Report post Posted January 6, 2012 Greetings all, I am new to the forum and after doing a thorough search in the forums for info regarding the Rex 607, Tuffsew and Techsew 611, it has come up dry -- and, after researching the net these all appear to the be same machine. I have been using a Juki, Consew (flatbed apparel industrial machines) and a Singer cylinder machine for handbag making in a shared studio. I am now setting up at home and have been seeking a reasonably priced secondhand Juki or similar. A sales guy today suggested the Rex 607z walking foot. There is very little review on the internet about this machine or the Tuffsew and Techsew versions. Buying this machine new, which gives the security of warranty, is kinda attractive to me at this point than buying and industrial used machine. Has anyone used the above machines -- any feedback? He can give you all the info. you need and might even have a used machine with warranty as good as new. He also has new machines for every job at good prices. Art Report post Posted January 7, 2012 Search out CP 206 and CP 146. These machines run in quality anywhere from very good to abyssmal. They were made popular by Sailrite, who still sell them. They are really NOT an industrial machine. They have a walking foot drop feed system, NO NEEDLE FEED. You can get maybe 1/4 inch under the foot, but it won't sew that much leather for very long. Don't expect to make handbags with this type of machine. We don't usually use zz machines for leatherwork.
