Gun Holster Mold Inquiry And/or Holster Help

Recommended Posts

Hi,

I recently bought a gun that I'm having an IMPOSSIBLE time trying to find a holster for, any chance anyone has a mold or this same gun can make something? I am looking for a custom holster that is deeply boned (shape of gun on outside). I've been looking for weeks trying to track down a gun mold or a maker that can help me with no luck, does anyone have any ideas?

Gun Model: IMI Uzi Eagle .40 compact (polymer)

Looks just like a Jericho 941 compact or the new Magnum Research Baby Desert Eagle II compact.

Pretty cool gun but not sure if anyone makes that mold. You may want to find someone close to you so you can take the gun to them.

Well, this IS a leather working forum......have you considered making your own holster?

If you decide that you'd like to try it, we can help you with suggestions of material and methods, then help with the construction methods. You would end up with a truly unique holster.

+1 on TwinOaks comment. But you don't need a mold if you own that gun. Plenty of the makers here on the board use their personal weapons to make their holsters. That is if you're intending to make your own. On the other hand, if you're looking for someone here to make the holster, it could be challenging as that is a unique pistol. Not sure where you're at, but if you're around San Diego I'd be happy to consult with you on the job.

Edit: one thought that came to mind, have you considered making a mold of the gun yourself and shipping it to a maker? I've never made a mold, but I've heard people tell me it's pretty simple.

Thanks for the replies guys, let me address each one.

1. I have found 2 people near me but neither one makes the type of holster I'm looking for with the detailed boning I see out there.

2. I am a complete clutz making or trying to fix anything so making my own holster would be like throwing money down the toilet, wouldn't be pretty. :)

3. I am in WI so the closest person who could do what I'm looking for is about 8-9 hrs. away. The mold idea is a great one, I'll be looking on the internet to see how it's done. It would be great if I could do that and send it off, it would also help others if I had a mold to send to a custom maker. I hope it is that simple.

Thanks guys,

There are 5-6 or more members on here in the Wisconsin area that work with holsters. I am in Milwaukee, there's one in the Sparta area, one in the Madison area, and a couple more up north. I think you can hit one or the other without driving 8-9 hours.

If anyone makes detailed boned holsters in SE WI (besides Del Fatti) by all means let me know, I'd be more than willing to give someone local my business. I was able to find a holster maker out in CA that is willing to attempt it with an actual Baby Desert Eagle he owns. The guns aren't exactly the same (width, barrel length, polymer vs. steel) but it's as close as you can get without the actual gun, better than nothing I suppose. I'm deciding between that or just getting a Springfield XD holster, the gun fits into that holster just fine but the barrel length would be different of course (mine is 3.5", closest XD length would be the XDM 3.8).

Thanks guys.

Thank you to all of you who gave me ideas and were willing to help me, I placed an order with TTGunleather yesterday. He has a Baby Desert Eagle which is very similar to my gun and said he would figure out how to make it work. I'll definitely be coming on here for my next gun holster to find a local maker, I'm big on supporting local business.
