E-Bay has changed the way they display the bidding histories

Recommended Posts

I've been watching a few items on ebay and have notice a trend in some of the bidders. Is there any signifigance (sp) in an ebayers name? For example does 1**1, or y**y mean anything? When I do a member search on these names they dont exist. Just wondering

Kevin, E-Bay has changed the way they display the bidding histories names so that unless you are the person that has listed an item for sale, you are not permitted to see the actual name of the bidder. They say this is to keep unscrupulous people from contacting the bidders with a better deal on something.

On another board dealing with vehicles, we've noticed a couple guys just from there that have found ways to on ebay to use camofaged user names to artificially inflate bids.

Computer gurus can track them down and expose them but by then the damage is done and ebay evidently can't or won't act on it.

As usual, you put safe gaurds in place and someone finds a way around it.

Be suspect and know your prices.

Best wishes G.H.
