Show Me Your Hot Box

I'm making a hot box for drying my holsters before I end up baking a batch of them in the oven after forgetting them, or Mama turns it on for dinner

I've got a 2 door cabinet that stands about 30" high. I've got a vent slot for it so I can regulate the heat and air flow. I'm trying to decide if I want to use a heat lamp or a small heater fan I bought at Harbor Freight. The cabinet is big and heavy so I have not moved it inside yet, sitting outside. I'd prefer to leave it in the garage but it get's mighty cold here in WI so I bought some insulation wrap to put around it or maybe in it. We'll get it moved inside this spring, or maybe even build something new and smaller.

Can you show me what you've got?

Well, from the grumpy old man. My work is usually slow in the winter, (I want it that way) so I don't often need a true dedicated 'hot box'. I'll use a fairly small cardboard box into which I direct the soft blast from an electric space heater when necessary, but actually don't really like the outcome as much as how I do things in the majority of the year. My actual drying method is pictured herein. Not really trying to be a 'smart #$%$%', but I live in the middle of the desert. The surface you see (within which abides the pet 'Western Mojave Rumble Snake') will easily reach about 150 degrees on a normal day out here. Humidity stays around 12%. I perch whatever needs to dry on a wire frame with a piece of cheese cloth stretched across it. The holster rests on the cheese cloth. The combined heat (about 130 -140 degrees one foot off the surface) and a gentle breeze drys the stuff quickly and thoroughly. Mike

I just set this up last week, and I'm using it every day...and it sure is speeding up my production.

In the summer months I can just leave the work on the window sill for a while....in the Michigan winters, not so easy.

This works great......$12 space heater from Lowes......little dish rack that she still hasn't missed.....and the box to let the warm air whip around in....
