Hi one of the main things to look out for is a proper walking foot on the machine this is where one foot holds the leather down then the needle pierce then the needle comes up then the same foot lifts of the leather then the other foot moves the leather along then the process starts again,so really the machines you want have two feet,,Don`t get this mixed up with the the walking foot ie one moving foot leather patcher 29k4. The machines with the proper walking feet sew thicker leather but don`t quote me on this I am no expert,I am sure that some one could explain this better to you,
