Dye Bleeding

wtf

Please be patient I'm new at leather work and blogging. I'm having trouble with my dyed leather bleeding on clothes even after I put 2 coats of supersheen on it. I've also used fiebings resolene with the same result. This is with or without resist. I buff the leather before final finish and I let each coat dry for 24hrs. What am I doing wrong

I'd love to know the answer to this question too. I've tried all the above but the dye still runs.

Ya it's frustrating not being able to get an answer from people that have done this for years. I've ruined some of my own clothes and don't want to ruin a customer's clothes.

I use Gum Tragacanth on the backs of my unlined belts and smooth them up with a piece of Plexiglas and then finish them with Fiebings Tan Kote. I don't have any trouble with them bleeding off on clothes.
